The Short Version LearnerX is an AI-powered tutoring service for homeschool families. Parents are in charge — you create the accounts, you set the rules, you see everything. Use the service responsibly, pay for what you use, and we'll keep building something your family can trust. If something goes wrong, talk to us first.

1 What LearnerX Is

LearnerX is an AI-powered tutoring platform built specifically for homeschool families. Here's what that means in practice:

LearnerX is a tutoring tool, not a school, not a curriculum provider, and not a replacement for your role as your child's educator. It's designed to support what you're already doing.

What LearnerX Is Not

LearnerX does not issue grades, transcripts, diplomas, or any form of academic credential. It does not make educational decisions for your family. It does not connect to the internet during sessions, and it does not expose your child to unfiltered content. The AI stays focused on the subject matter you've selected.

2 Who Can Use LearnerX

LearnerX is designed for families, which means there are two types of users:

Parents & Guardians

You must be at least 18 years old to create a family account. By creating an account, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of the children you add to the platform, and that you consent to their use of the service.

Children

Children access LearnerX through accounts that parents create and manage. Children do not create their own accounts and cannot sign up independently. As the parent, you are responsible for your child's use of the service, and you maintain full visibility into their activity.

Why This Matters

Because LearnerX serves children, we take the parent-gatekeeper model seriously. We comply with COPPA (the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act), and we've designed the entire system so that parents are always in the loop. See our Privacy Policy for the full details on how we protect children's data.

3 Your Responsibilities as a Parent

When you use LearnerX, you agree to:

4 Understanding the AI

LearnerX uses artificial intelligence to power the tutoring experience. We want to be honest about what that means — both the strengths and the limitations.

What the AI does well

An Honest Note About AI

AI is a powerful tool, but it's not perfect. The tutor may occasionally make factual errors, explain a concept in a way that doesn't click, or misunderstand what your child is asking. This is why we built LearnerX with parents at the center — you're the one who knows your child best, and your judgment always takes priority over what the AI says.

If you notice something inaccurate or concerning, please let us know. We take every report seriously and use them to improve.

The AI does not browse the internet, form opinions, discuss topics outside of academics, or engage in personal conversations with your child. It stays focused on the subject matter you've assigned.

5 Acceptable Use

We've tried to build something good for families. Please help us keep it that way. Don't:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. We'll always try to reach out first, but we won't hesitate to protect our users — especially the children on our platform.

6 Payment & Billing

LearnerX is a paid service. Here's how billing works:

Refunds

We don't offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel mid-month, you'll keep access until the period ends. If there's a genuine billing error or technical issue that prevented you from using the service, contact us and we'll work it out fairly.

7 Your Data & Content

Your family's data belongs to your family. Here's how that plays out in practice:

For the full picture, our Privacy Policy covers everything in detail.

8 What We Promise

We commit to:

Service Availability

We aim for high uptime, but we can't guarantee the service will always be available. Internet connectivity, scheduled maintenance, and unforeseen technical issues may cause temporary interruptions. We'll always communicate openly about outages and work to resolve them quickly.

9 Intellectual Property

A quick note on who owns what:

10 Limitations of Liability

LearnerX is provided "as is." We're a small team building something we believe in, and we need to be clear about what we can and can't be held responsible for:

Our total liability for any claims related to LearnerX is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

Why These Limits Exist

We're a small company building a service we care deeply about. These limitations let us focus our resources on making LearnerX better for every family, rather than managing legal exposure. If you have a genuine issue, we'd rather solve it through a conversation than a courtroom.

11 Account Termination

You Can Leave Anytime

You can close your account whenever you want. Before you do, we recommend exporting any data you'd like to keep (progress records, session history). Once your account is deleted, your data is permanently removed within 30 days.

When We May Close an Account

We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

We'll always try to notify you first and give you a reasonable window to export your data, except in cases where immediate action is needed to protect our users.

12 Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as LearnerX evolves. When we do:

We'll never quietly weaken your rights or your children's protections. Our commitments to family safety and data privacy are foundational — not subject to change.

13 Legal Details

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. LearnerX is operated by Helix Systems LLC.

Dispute Resolution

We believe most issues can be resolved through honest conversation. If a dispute arises:

  1. Talk to us first. Email hello@learnerx.school and give us 30 days to work toward a resolution.
  2. Binding arbitration. If we can't resolve it informally, disputes will be settled through binding arbitration, not courts. Arbitration is faster, less expensive, and less adversarial.
  3. Small claims exception. Either party can bring claims in small claims court if they qualify.
  4. No class actions. Disputes must be resolved individually, not as part of a class action or representative proceeding.

Severability

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, that section will be adjusted to the minimum extent necessary. The rest of the terms remain in full effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and AI & Safety page, make up the complete agreement between you and LearnerX.

Questions About These Terms?

We wrote these to be read, not to intimidate. If something isn't clear, just ask.
