1 What LearnerX Is

LearnerX is an AI-powered tutoring platform built specifically for homeschool families. Here's what that means in practice:

• Your child works one-on-one with an AI tutor through voice conversations and on-screen content
• You (the parent) choose the subjects, set the pace, and control what the tutor covers
• The AI adapts to your child's learning style, strengths, and areas that need work
• Every session generates a summary so you can see exactly what happened

LearnerX is a tutoring tool, not a school, not a curriculum provider, and not a replacement for your role as your child's educator. It's designed to support what you're already doing.

2 Who Can Use LearnerX

LearnerX is designed for families, which means there are two types of users:

Parents & Guardians

You must be at least 18 years old to create a family account. By creating an account, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of the children you add to the platform, and that you consent to their use of the service.

Children

Children access LearnerX through accounts that parents create and manage. Children do not create their own accounts and cannot sign up independently. As the parent, you are responsible for your child's use of the service, and you maintain full visibility into their activity.

3 Your Responsibilities as a Parent

When you use LearnerX, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information during account creation and child onboarding. The tutor works best when it understands your child's grade level and learning preferences.
• Supervise appropriately. LearnerX is a tool to support your teaching, not a babysitter. We encourage you to review session summaries regularly and stay engaged with your child's progress.
• Keep your account secure. Don't share your login credentials. You're responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
• Use the service as intended. LearnerX is for educational tutoring. Please don't use it for purposes it wasn't designed for.
• Respect the AI's boundaries. The tutor is designed to stay on topic. If your child attempts to take the conversation in inappropriate directions, the AI will redirect — but parental guidance is always the first line.

4 Understanding the AI

LearnerX uses artificial intelligence to power the tutoring experience. We want to be honest about what that means — both the strengths and the limitations.

What the AI does well

• Adapts pacing and explanations to your child's level
• Provides patient, consistent, one-on-one attention
• Covers core academic subjects with curriculum-aligned content
• Remembers your child's progress and adjusts over time

The AI does not browse the internet, form opinions, discuss topics outside of academics, or engage in personal conversations with your child. It stays focused on the subject matter you've assigned.

5 Acceptable Use

We've tried to build something good for families. Please help us keep it that way. Don't:

• Attempt to hack, probe, or compromise our systems
• Try to extract, reverse-engineer, or repurpose the AI models
• Use LearnerX for anything other than educational tutoring
• Share your account credentials with people outside your household
• Attempt to bypass parental controls or session limits
• Misrepresent your relationship with LearnerX or use our name or brand without permission
• Use automated tools to interact with the service (bots, scrapers, etc.)

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. We'll always try to reach out first, but we won't hesitate to protect our users — especially the children on our platform.

6 Payment & Billing

LearnerX is a paid service. Here's how billing works:

• Pricing is detailed on our pricing page, which always reflects current rates. We may adjust pricing over time, but we'll give you at least 30 days' notice before any changes affect your account.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card details. All payment information goes directly to Stripe's secure systems.
• Spending limits can be set by parents. You control how much your family uses each month, and you'll never be charged beyond the limit you set.
• Billing is monthly. Your subscription or usage charges are billed at the end of each billing cycle.
• Cancel anytime. There are no long-term contracts. You can cancel your subscription at any time, and you'll retain access through the end of your current billing period.

Refunds

We don't offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel mid-month, you'll keep access until the period ends. If there's a genuine billing error or technical issue that prevented you from using the service, contact us and we'll work it out fairly.

7 Your Data & Content

Your family's data belongs to your family. Here's how that plays out in practice:

• You own your data. Student profiles, learning preferences, progress records — it's all yours. You can export it or delete it at any time.
• Session content (transcripts, summaries, problems worked on) is generated by the AI during tutoring sessions. You have full access to review, export, or delete it.
• We don't sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. Our business model is charging for the service, not monetizing your family's information.
• We don't use your data to train AI. Your child's sessions are not added to any AI training dataset — by us or by our technology partners.

8 What We Promise

We commit to:

• Keeping children safe. Content filtering, session guardrails, and parental oversight are built into the core of our platform, not bolted on as an afterthought.
• Being transparent. About our technology, our limitations, our pricing, and how we handle your data. If something changes, you'll know about it.
• Maintaining the service. We'll work to keep LearnerX reliable, fast, and available. When maintenance is needed, we'll try to schedule it during off-peak hours and give you notice when possible.
• Protecting your privacy. We follow through on the commitments in our Privacy Policy. No exceptions, no loopholes.
• Listening to feedback. LearnerX is built for families, and we take what you tell us seriously. If something isn't working, we want to hear about it.

Service Availability

We aim for high uptime, but we can't guarantee the service will always be available. Internet connectivity, scheduled maintenance, and unforeseen technical issues may cause temporary interruptions. We'll always communicate openly about outages and work to resolve them quickly.

9 Intellectual Property

A quick note on who owns what:

• LearnerX's platform (the software, design, brand, and underlying technology) belongs to Helix Systems LLC. You're granted a license to use it as a subscriber — you're not purchasing the software itself.
• Your family's data (student profiles, learning preferences, progress records) belongs to you.
• AI-generated session content (lesson materials, problems, explanations generated during tutoring) is created for your family's use. You're free to keep, share, or use it however you'd like for educational purposes.

10 Limitations of Liability

LearnerX is provided "as is." We're a small team building something we believe in, and we need to be clear about what we can and can't be held responsible for:

• Educational outcomes. LearnerX is a tutoring tool, not a guarantee of academic results. Learning outcomes depend on many factors, and we can't promise specific results.
• AI accuracy. While we work hard to ensure quality content, the AI may occasionally produce errors. Parental review is an important part of the process.
• Service interruptions. Downtime, bugs, and technical issues happen. We'll fix them as fast as we can, but we can't be held liable for temporary disruptions.
• Data loss. We take data protection seriously, but no system is perfectly immune to failure. We encourage you to export important data regularly.
• Third-party services. Stripe, our AI partners, and our infrastructure providers each have their own terms. Issues with their services are outside our direct control.

Our total liability for any claims related to LearnerX is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

11 Account Termination

You Can Leave Anytime

You can close your account whenever you want. Before you do, we recommend exporting any data you'd like to keep (progress records, session history). Once your account is deleted, your data is permanently removed within 30 days.

When We May Close an Account

We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Have been inactive for more than 18 months
• Have unresolved payment issues for more than 60 days
• Are being used in ways that could harm other users or the platform

We'll always try to notify you first and give you a reasonable window to export your data, except in cases where immediate action is needed to protect our users.

12 Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as LearnerX evolves. When we do:

• We'll notify you by email before significant changes take effect
• Major changes come with 30 days' notice
• The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version
• Continued use of LearnerX after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms
• If you disagree with a change, you can export your data and close your account at any time

We'll never quietly weaken your rights or your children's protections. Our commitments to family safety and data privacy are foundational — not subject to change.

13 Legal Details

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. LearnerX is operated by Helix Systems LLC.

Dispute Resolution

We believe most issues can be resolved through honest conversation. If a dispute arises:

1. Talk to us first. Email hello@learnerx.school and give us 30 days to work toward a resolution.
2. Binding arbitration. If we can't resolve it informally, disputes will be settled through binding arbitration, not courts. Arbitration is faster, less expensive, and less adversarial.
3. Small claims exception. Either party can bring claims in small claims court if they qualify.
4. No class actions. Disputes must be resolved individually, not as part of a class action or representative proceeding.

Severability

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, that section will be adjusted to the minimum extent necessary. The rest of the terms remain in full effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and AI & Safety page, make up the complete agreement between you and LearnerX.
